The Program Management Office (PMO) Leader is responsible for managing, developing and maturing the Vandalia PMO team capabilities, to support programs in their ability to finishing projects on time, on budget, while following project management standards. In this role, you will work in close coordination with the Engineering/Program owners across the Vandalia business, leveraging project management best practices, tools and functionality. In addition, you will:*Manage a team PMO analysts, who are key members of the projects integrated project team and responsible for owning the integrated master schedules and maintaining scheduling quality*Lead the Power business Earn Value Management System Certification launch & adherence (EIA-748 Earned Value Management Systems), in collaboration with the GE Aerospace EVMS team*Support of Engineering Executives capacity review analysis and budgeting/long range forecasting*Drive initiatives to improves NPI execution and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of program/project management, metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination*Play a key role in supporting FLIGHT DECK, especially Hoshin Kanri activities to improve the predictability of project execution, re-enforcing project management fundamentals for maintaining accurate project estimates at complete (EAC), problem solving to prevent surprises, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting*Actively drive daily management across the Vandalia PMO organization and collaborate with other Power PMO leaders to support continuous improvement efforts

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and maturing Program Management capabilities to efficiently realize program benefit by finishing projects on time, on budget, with proper performance
  • Coach teams to mature program management capability across Vandalia team
  • Develops standards, processes & training to support EVMS certification standards
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization
  • Leads development of Program Management Standards and coach team and stakeholders on proper project management practices
  • Challenge existing processes and practices to drive optimization, innovation, and enhanced business performance
  • Identify risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies to safeguard organizational objectives
  • Manages budgets and interfaces with contractors, suppliers, customers and internal functions
  • Provides insights & support to NPI tollgate process
  • Partners with engineering, commercial & product, finance, and across the PMO to review data & provide analysis key to understanding project status
  • Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, business operations, master scheduling or engineering

  • PMP certification/six sigma blackbelt, with a passion to drive continuous improvements
  • Experience launching and maintaining EIA-748 Earned Value Management Systems
  • Previous master scheduler expertise, with Deltek OpenPlan scheduling tool expertise
  • Established project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
