The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.

Role Description:

• Serve as a Non Rated Crew Member NRCM Loadmaster LM Standardization Instructor SI for the DHC-8. 
• Responsible for accomplishing all required LM NRCM duties in accordance with policies and procedures. 
• Responsible for instruction, evaluation, and standardization of Loadmaster personnel IAW approved aircrew training programs, applicable INLA directives, and regulatory guidance. 
• This is a full time Home of Record HOR based worldwide deployable position. 

Key Responsibility:

• Functions as a FW NRCM Subject Matter Expert SME on issues related to FW NRCMs, as a representative of the Chief of Standards CoS. 

• Conduct training and evaluations of FW Loadmasters, Flight Instructors FI and Standardization Instructors SI. 

• Conduct FW NRCM standardization program oversight. 

• Perform NRCM LM duties in accordance with aircrew training program requirements. 

• Plan and perform airdrop operations. 

• Plan and perform loading and unloading activities, compute the center of gravity position and ensure it is within prescribed limits at all times. 

• Ensure the cargo compartment is properly configured for each mission. 

• Verify and maintain a manifest for cargo and or personnel. 

• Supervise and participate in loading and unloading operations. 

• Ensure cargo and passengers are properly restrained. 

• Confirm security of cargo and passengers as necessary. 

• Supervise passengers during routine and emergency operations. 

• Report any malfunction, maintenance, or safety concern to the Pilot in Command. 

• Perform emergency procedure actions as required by applicable directives and or the Pilot in Command. 

• Perform aircraft servicing duties including fueling operations and aircraft configuration changes as required. 

• Position requires a U.S. Security Clearance. 

• Perform routine OCONUS travel and within CONUS travel as required. 

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• FAA Airframe and Power Plant Mechanics License. 
• Current FAA Class III Medical Certificate. 
• AOCF 1A, 2X1 Aircraft Loadmaster AFSC series or another military or commercial documented equivalent. 
• Minimum of 650 flight hours as a FW Loadmaster or Flight Engineer. 
• Minimum 1 year experience as a crewmember instructor. 
• 3 years of loadmaster experience on multi engine fixed wing aircraft. 
• Spanish Level L2, R2 required in LATAM Programs. 
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 180 days or more annually, schedule may vary monthly. 

• Obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance 

   

   

  Preferred 

   

   

• Graduate of the US Army Flight Instructor Course. 
• Full-time load master, A and P DHC8 mechanic for the past 12 months. 
• Prior load master experience with Pratt and Whitney PT6 engines and Hamilton Standard propeller systems. 
• Have an active U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
