Join the Material & Process Technology (M&PT) team within Defense Systems—where innovation meets mission-critical engineering.
In this role, you’ll help ensure the reliability and future readiness of advanced aircraft and defense systems by tackling one of the industry’s biggest challenges: component obsolescence. You’ll work across iconic programs like F-22, F-15, T-7, MQ-25, and more—supporting both legacy systems and next-generation technologies.
What You’ll DoAs an Electrical Component Engineer, you will:
Evaluate and identify replacement solutions for obsolete electrical and electronic components
Conduct proactive obsolescence forecasting using advanced monitoring and surveillance tools
Analyze data from OEMs, suppliers, and industry systems to anticipate risks
Monitor GIDEP alerts and communicate status updates to internal teams and DoD customers
Develop mitigation strategies and perform business case analyses for recommended solutions
Create and deliver presentations outlining DMSMS (Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages) issues and resolutions
Collaborate in cross-functional teams and support customer meetings with DoD and industry partners
Assist in preparing contractual deliverables and technical reports
Support product/program teams in managing obsolescence risks and processes
Contribute to new product development by recommending alternate electrical components
Assist in implementing DoD Parts Management Program (PMP) requirements
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or related field preferred)
2+ years of relevant engineering experience (or Master’s with experience)
Strong knowledge of electronic components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, ICs, etc.)
Ability to research and evaluate alternate components using datasheets and technical resources
Understanding of obsolescence concepts and part substitution strategies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work within structured, team-based environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in military or aerospace engineering environments
Familiarity with industry and military standards (SAE, MIL-SPEC, ASTM, IEEE)
Experience with Statements of Work (SOWs) and deliverable management
Background in component-level design, testing, and troubleshooting
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems
Experience applying Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), LEAN, and quality principles

Pay Details: $42.00 to $58.00 per hour
