Responsibilities:
- Create new and revise existing designs, drawings, and bills of material (BOMs) for product development and sustainment
- Apply computer-aided design (CAD) engineering methods, theories, and research techniques to solve complex technical problems
- Support mechanical design, part fabrication, and electronic assembly integration
- Provide technical solutions for a wide range of difficult design-related challenges
- Lead or contribute as an individual technical contributor on a small design or test team
- Develop practical design alternatives and support implementation of the most effective solution
- Help ensure design documentation is accurate, complete, and properly controlled within file management systems
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized field required, plus 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong experience with Pro/ENGINEER (Pro-E), Creo, or SolidWorks
- Experience in mechanical design, part fabrication, and assembly of electronics
- Ability to develop new design approaches, evaluate alternatives, and establish backup plans
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using strategic CAD and file management tools
- Broad competency across the applicable design domain
- Experience supporting design or test teams in regulated, high-reliability, or defense-related environments
