Job Description:

Position SummaryReporting to the SOCC Manager, the Crew Planner is responsible to create monthly crew schedules in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations and the applicable Collective Agreements.Personal CharacteristicsHighly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environmentProfessional and respectful, with a positive work attitudeTimely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essentialMotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamEffective verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of integrity, confidentiality and accountabilityStrong problem solving and analytical skillsStrong planning skills and detail-orientedHigh level of respect, understanding and regard for First Nations communitiesKey Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesDevelop flight crew schedules for all pilots and flight attendants, including vacation requests, in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations and the applicable Collective AgreementsRecognize crew roster deficiencies and work with the Human Resources department and Chief Pilots to post position bidsLiaise with all Flight Operations departments regarding crew planning and schedulingRelease flight crews’ monthly bids as per the applicable Collective AgreementAdvise Flight Ops Management when the monthly bid period has opened and the Flight Crew schedules have been releasedDiscuss any charters with all applicable departmentsMust be available after hours for the occasional crewing adjustments; company phone will be providedInvolved in the payroll process for pilots and flight attendantsInitial orientation with pilots coming out of trainingMonitor and track shift changes, sick days and vacationsManage email distribution lists for each group of flight crew membersOrganize travel and accommodations for pilots and flight attendants while away from basePerform additional duties as assignedMinimum Education, Experience and CertificationsHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalentMust be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizationsExperience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)Experience working directly within a Flight Operations department considered an assetIndigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an assetWorking ConditionsPhysically able to perform all listed job dutiesTravel by aircraft and other means as required by roleManual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephoneAble to attend and conduct presentationsMay be required to lift or move up to 30lbsPhysical location of position is only accessible via flight of stairsWork performed primarily in an office environment
